Getting Started
Sign in to Calso for the first time
Request early access, confirm your email address from the approval email, and get into your dashboard with either your own password or a Google or Microsoft account.
Getting into Calso for the first time is three short moves: apply, confirm your email address, then sign in — with the password you chose or with Google or Microsoft, whichever suits you. This walks through all three, and names what each screen says so you always know where you are.
Two addresses matter here. You apply at calso.io/signup, and from then on you sign in at calso.io/login. Everything below happens on those two pages, plus your inbox. If you are still weighing up whether to apply, start with what Calso does.
Request early access
Calso is onboarding coaches in batches during its beta, so the front door is an application rather than an instant sign-up. The page is headed Request early access, and the form is short:
- Full name and Email — the address you want the account keyed to.
- Password — at least 8 characters. A strength meter reads Weak, Fair, Good, or Strong as you type. This is the password you will sign in with, so store it somewhere you can find it again.
- Business name, and Website if you have one.
- Tell us about your coaching practice — optional, but it is what gets read during review, so a couple of sentences about who you work with helps.
- Time zone — pre-filled from your computer's clock. Change it if you are travelling.
Tick I agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, then press Request Access. The form is replaced by Application received!, and a receipt with the subject "We received your application" arrives right away. There is nothing else to do at this stage — the account does not exist yet, and applying a second time with the same address only tells you an application is already pending.
Confirm your email address
When your application is approved, an email arrives with the subject "Welcome to Calso — confirm your email to finish" and a Confirm my email button. That button is the last step of setup: pressing it proves the address reaches you and switches the account on. If the button does not work in your mail app, the same link is printed underneath in full, ready to copy into your browser. One click takes you to the sign-in page with a green banner reading Email verified! You can now sign in.
The link does not expire, so an approval email you find a fortnight later still works. Asking for a new one replaces it, though, which is why Invalid or expired verification link. almost always means you clicked an older email — go back to the most recent one, or request another.
Sign in with your email and password
- Open the sign-in page
Go to calso.io/login. If you already have a Calso session open in that browser you are sent straight to your dashboard instead. The Email and Password fields sit below a divider reading or sign in with email.
- Type your email and password
Use the address you applied with and the password you chose on the access form. The eye icon at the right of the password box reveals what you have typed, which is worth checking before you blame the password.
- Press Sign in
The button reads Signing in... while it works. If your address has not been confirmed yet, Calso says so plainly — your password was right — and offers Send a new confirmation link underneath so you can finish that step and come straight back.
- Land on your dashboard
The first thing you see is a full-screen panel headed Let's set up your workspace with three quick questions. Answer those and the dashboard opens behind it.
The extra sign-in code step
If two-factor authentication is turned on for your account, one more screen stands between your password and the dashboard. It is headed Confirm your sign-in and asks for a Sign-in code — six digits, emailed to you and valid for ten minutes. Type it and press Verify code; if the email is slow, Send a new code issues another after a short cooldown. Two-factor is off unless you switch it on, and it never applies to the Google or Microsoft route — see turn on two-factor authentication for the whole of it.
If you have forgotten your password
Forgot password? sits beside the Password label. It opens a page headed Reset your password: enter your address, press Send reset link, and a Check your email confirmation follows. The link is good for one hour. Choose a new password, confirm it, and press Reset password. Finishing a reset also confirms your email address, so it clears an unconfirmed one at the same time.
Sign in with Google or Microsoft
- Choose your provider
Press Sign in with Google or Sign in with Microsoft. Both buttons sit at the top of the sign-in page, above the email and password fields, and either one works — pick whichever runs the email address on your Calso account.
- Pick the matching account
Google and Microsoft will ask which account you want to use. Choose the one whose address matches the application or invite. This is the step that most often goes wrong on a computer signed into more than one account, so read the address before you confirm.
- Land on your dashboard
Calso takes you straight through. Coming in this way also confirms your email address, so if you signed in here before clicking the link in your approval email, that step is already done.
If someone invited you instead
If a Calso admin set your account up for you, you never see the application form. You get an email headed "You're Invited to Calso" with an Accept Invitation button, and that link is good for seven days.
The page it opens is headed Welcome to Calso and asks you to choose a password: fill in Password and Confirm password, both at least 8 characters, then press Set password & continue. A You're all set confirmation tells you the account is ready, and there is no separate email to confirm — setting the password from that link does it. From there, sign in with that password, or use Sign in with Google or Sign in with Microsoft with the same address the invite was sent to; the invite page offers the same shortcut under "Prefer to sign in with Google or Microsoft?".
If the page instead says the invite link is missing its token, the address was cut short somewhere between the email and your browser. Ask whoever invited you to send it again rather than retyping it.
When sign-in does not go through
Being bounced to the application page with "We didn't find a Calso account for that email." means Calso has no account for the address behind the button you pressed. Go back and pick the exact address you applied with, or the one your invite was sent to.
"This account uses single sign-on." is the opposite problem: no password was ever set on that account, so the Sign in with Google and Sign in with Microsoft buttons are its way in. And if Microsoft sends you back saying Calso could not verify the email address on your Microsoft account, sign in with Google instead, or contact support.
Where to go next
The three questions on the Let's set up your workspace panel decide which items show up in your setup checklist later, and they cannot be changed afterwards — so read answer the workspace setup questions before you fill them in, then take the dashboard tour to see where everything lives.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to sign in with Google or Microsoft, or can I use a password?
Either works, and you can swap between them whenever you like. The password you chose on the access form signs you in from the Email and Password fields at calso.io/login, and the Sign in with Google and Sign in with Microsoft buttons above those fields open the same account as long as they carry the same email address. Both land you on the same dashboard.
Can I start using Calso straight away, or do I have to be approved?
Calso is in beta and accounts are approved in batches, so the form at calso.io/signup sends an application rather than opening an account. A confirmation email arrives the moment it lands, and the on-screen message quotes a 24 to 48 hour review window. When you are approved you get a second email with a Confirm my email button; one click on that and the account is ready to sign in to.
My approval email never arrived, or I deleted it. How do I get a new confirmation link?
Go to calso.io/login, type your email address and password, and press Sign in. Calso will tell you the address has not been confirmed yet and offer Send a new confirmation link underneath the message. Press it and a fresh link is emailed to you. The new link replaces the older one, so always use the most recent email.
Does signing in with Google also connect my Google Calendar?
No. Signing in only tells Calso your name and email address; it does not read or write anything in your calendar. Connecting a calendar so Calso can see your existing commitments and add new sessions is a separate step you do later from Settings, under Calendars.
