Fill in the profile clients see

Set the name, photo, title, bio, and specialty chips that appear beside every booking page — and write the title and description that show up when your page is found in search or shared.

Updated August 27, 2026

Your booking page has a sidebar, and the sidebar is where a client decides whether to trust you before they pick a time. A photo, a name, a one-line title, and two sentences about who you help do most of that work. This is also where you set the headline and blurb people see when your page shows up in a search result or gets pasted into a chat.

All of it lives in one place: Settings in the sidebar, then the General tab, which opens by default. Work down the left column and a Sidebar Preview on the right redraws with every keystroke, so you see the page as a client will. Below it sits your Booking URL with a Click to copy shortcut. If you have not settled that address yet, do your URL, time zone, and currency first.

Fill in the Booking Page Profile

The Booking Page Profile card is the second one down, and the fields in it are the ones a client actually reads.

  1. Open the General tab

Click Settings in the sidebar. The General tab opens first, and Booking Page Profile sits directly under the Workspace card.

  2. Enter the name clients should see

Type it into Your Name — your own name if you sell yourself, your business name if you sell a practice. This is the large name at the top of the sidebar, and it changes more than the page, which the next section explains.

  3. Add your photo

Under Profile Photo, press Upload photo — or Upload custom photo, if a photo from your Google account is already there — and choose a square PNG, JPEG, or WebP file under 2MB. It is shown as a circle, so keep your face centred and away from the edges, and note that it is not attached to your profile until you press Save Profile at the end of this card.

  4. Say what you do in one line

Title / Subtitle takes up to 100 characters and sits in your accent colour directly under your name — something like "Business Growth Strategist" or "Registered Dietitian, Prenatal Nutrition".

  5. Write the Short Bio

Two sentences on who you help and how, up to 200 characters. The counter under the box turns amber past 150 to warn you that you are near the limit.

  6. Press Save Profile

A green Saved! appears beside the button. Your live page updates straight away — there is nothing to publish afterwards.

There is a second, longer box called Extended Bio with no length limit. Your full story goes there — credentials, training, approach — but it does not appear on your booking page, so write the Short Bio first and treat the long one as optional groundwork.

What the name field also renames

Your Name is not only a display setting. Pressing Save Profile applies it in three places at once: the name on your booking page, the name of your workspace inside Calso, and the name on your own account. There is no separate field for the workspace name anywhere in Settings, so this field is the name.

That matters when your business name and your own name are different. Whichever you type here is what a client sees in the sidebar and what Calso uses for your business in places like text-message reminders. Pick the one you want in front of clients and let the other go.

Choose the photo clients see

If you signed in with Google, Calso already borrows that account's photo, and the card says so: the button reads Upload custom photo, and a small Google tag sits on the preview circle. Anything you upload takes priority over it.

Once a custom photo is in place you get two links. Replace swaps in a different file. Remove deletes it immediately — no save needed — and falls back to your Google photo, or to a circle with your initial if there isn't one.

The two directions are not symmetrical, which is the thing to remember here. Remove applies the moment you click it, but choosing a file only loads it into the card: the new photo is not attached to your profile until you press Save Profile. If you upload a picture and navigate away, you come back to the old one.

Turn your specialties into chips

The Your Specialties card puts small labelled chips under your bio so a visitor can tell at a glance what you work on. Pick up to two under Domains, up to three under Categories, and up to five under Subcategories — categories only appear once you have chosen a domain, and subcategories once you have chosen a category. Custom Tags takes anything the list doesn't cover: type a phrase, press Enter, and it is added in lowercase, up to twenty of them.

Display Preferences underneath decides which of those four levels a client actually sees, with a Preview strip showing the result. Show categories, Show subcategories, and Show custom tags are on to begin with; Show domains is the one that starts off, because a domain is usually too broad to be worth a chip. Press Save Specialties when the preview looks right.

The SEO card at the bottom sets what people read before they ever open your page. Meta Title allows 60 characters and Meta Description 160, which is roughly what a search result shows before it trims. Both boxes open pre-filled with a suggestion built from your name, so you are editing rather than starting from nothing.

Two panels show the effect live. Search Preview draws a mock search result with your title, your address, and your description. Social Sharing Preview draws the card that appears when someone pastes your link into a message — Calso builds that image from your photo, name, title, and Short Bio, and the bio is trimmed near 120 characters there, which is another reason to put the important half first. Press Save SEO to store both fields.

With the profile written, finish the page with colours and your logo, then arrange what clients see so your best offering sits at the top.

Frequently asked questions

Does changing Your Name on the profile change anything else?

Yes. That one field is the name clients see on your booking page and the name of your workspace inside Calso, and it also updates the name on your own account. There is no separate workspace name field, so editing it renames everything at once. The change takes effect when you press Save Profile.

Why aren't my specialty chips showing on my booking page?

Chips only render once you have selected at least one item under Domains — with no domain chosen, nothing appears on the live page, not even custom tags. Check that the matching toggle under Display Preferences is on as well, since Show domains starts switched off, and then press Save Specialties.

Can I use a photo other than the one from my Google account?

Yes. If you signed in with Google, Calso shows that photo until you replace it, and the button under Profile Photo reads Upload custom photo. Choose a square PNG, JPEG, or WebP under 2MB, then press Save Profile — the file is only attached to your profile once that button is pressed. Your upload then takes over everywhere your profile appears, and pressing Remove later brings your Google photo back.

Do I need a paid plan to write my own meta title and description?

Editing them yourself needs the Practice plan or higher — on Starter the SEO card is dimmed and carries an Upgrade to Practice badge. Your page is still listed either way, because Calso writes a title and description from your name, your title, and what you currently offer.
