Point your own domain at your booking page

This lives in Settings → Branding & Email, in the section headed Domains & Email. The upper card, Custom Booking Domain, is the one this article covers. The lower card sets the address your client emails are sent from, which is a separate setup with its own records — see send booking emails from your own domain.

Choose a subdomain, not your website address

Point a subdomain at Calso — an address that sits in front of the domain you already own. If your website is yourdomain.com, good choices are book.yourdomain.com or schedule.yourdomain.com. Your website keeps yourdomain.com and carries on as it is; only the subdomain comes to Calso.

This matters because of the record you are about to create. Calso connects your domain with a CNAME record, which belongs on a subdomain — and the panel names that record after the first part of whatever you type. Enter book.yourdomain.com and it asks for a record named book, which is exactly right. Enter your bare website address and the instruction will not match anything you can safely create.

Add the domain and create the record

Have the account you bought your domain from — your domain host — open in another tab before you start.

1. Open the Custom Booking Domain card

   Go to Settings, choose the Branding & Email tab, and scroll to the Domains & Email section. The first card inside it is Custom Booking Domain, described as Point your own domain at your Calso booking page so clients see your brand, not calso.io.

2. Type the subdomain and press Add Domain

   Enter the full subdomain in the box — the placeholder shows the shape, book.yourdomain.com — and press Add Domain. The button reads Setting up... while it registers, then the card redraws with your domain listed and a yellow Pending verification badge beside it.

3. Copy the DNS record Calso shows you

   Under Add this DNS record to your domain: the card lists three values — a Type, a Name, and a Value. These are the three fields your domain host will ask for. If you are not sure where to add them, press Where do I find DNS settings? for the path through the five most common hosts; the same link then reads Hide help to close it.

4. Add the record at your domain host

   In your domain host's DNS area, add a record, choose CNAME as the type, put the Name value in the host or name field, and paste the Value into the target or points-to field. Save it. Most hosts publish the change within a few minutes, and there is nothing more to do at their end.

5. Come back to Calso and press Verify DNS

   Press Verify DNS. If the record has been published, the badge turns green and reads Verified, and a line appears reading Your booking page is live at followed by your address. If it is not visible yet, the domain stays Pending verification and a red line starting DNS check failed: explains what was found instead — wait a few minutes and press it again.

The record itself, for a domain of book.yourdomain.com, looks like this:

There is no certificate to buy or install. The secure https:// address is set up for you as part of verification.

What the three statuses mean

Pending verification means Calso has registered the domain but cannot yet see the CNAME record — the normal state for the first few minutes. Verified means the record is in place and your booking page is being served at your address; the card shows the live link so you can open it and check. Verification failed means a check ran and the record was not there.

Calso keeps checking on its own every fifteen minutes rather than only when you press the button. So a record that lands after you have closed the tab will verify by itself — and a working domain whose record is later edited or deleted will drop back to Verification failed and stop serving the page until the record is restored.

What clients see, and what stays on calso.io

Your address on its own opens your booking page — the list of everything a client can book from you. To send someone straight to one thing, take the Calso link you would normally share and swap the front of it: if your Calso link ends /consultation, then book.yourdomain.com/consultation is the same page at your address. Package and group links work the same way, and find and share your booking links shows where each one is copied from. Your original calso.io link keeps working as well — a custom domain is an addition, not a replacement.

Three things stay on calso.io by design: your own dashboard, the client portal your clients sign in to, and a booking widget embedded on your website, which always loads from Calso — invisible to a visitor, because they never leave your page. Client emails are the fourth, and they have their own setup in the card below this one.

For the finishing touch, the "Powered by Calso" Badge toggle on the same Branding & Email tab hides the small Calso credit at the foot of the booking page, so a client on your domain sees nothing but your own brand — see brand your booking page.

Replacing or removing the domain

A workspace holds one custom booking domain at a time. To switch addresses, remove the current one first — adding a second while one is in place returns Workspace already has a custom domain. Remove it first. A domain another Calso workspace has already claimed is refused with This domain is already in use by another workspace, and a registration that fails for any other reason returns Failed to register domain. Please try again or contact support.

Press Remove while a domain is still pending, or Remove Domain on a verified one. A browser prompt is the only confirmation, and the address stops serving your booking page the moment you accept it, so treat the button with care. Your calso.io link carries on as before and no booking is affected — but anything you printed or posted with your own address on it will need updating.

With the booking address done, the matching change is sending booking emails from your own domain — one section down in the same card, and the pair is what makes a client's whole experience read as yours.
